My approach
Creativity Should Empower Users & Readers
Content should provide context and instructions to help the client or end user achieve their goals. The end user reads this type of content to solve problems, learn new applications, or follow instructions for existing programs on familiar platforms. User-centered content can take various forms such as online help, manuals, instruction booklets, websites, or other media relevant to the product or application.
To cater to any client as a "user," the text should consider different skill levels and adapt to the appropriate context and application for the material. Depending on the situation, the content may be presented in a straightforward step-by-step format or include longer passages to complement images, whereas context in user-centered information is simple and clear.
On the other hand, reader-centered information adopts a more narrative tone. This is content created for those who will access it for informational use and not usually to discern any profitable aspects or interact upon only work-related topics. It is perhaps more helpful to think of such clients as "readers" rather than "users," since they are satisflying a hobby or general interest.
Reader-centered content focuses on developing ideas that the audience may understand without hesitation and relate with in one way or the other. It's empathetic and like user-centered texts, revolves around a central theme, whereas only the language and format differ. User-centered texts may incorporate topical segments, bulleted lists for emphasis, and numbered items as references. More specifically, reader-centered texts are often written in paragraphs that gradually build the audience's understanding through sections and pages. If a brief reader-oriented text is needed, it may take the form of a handout or flyer, but it still maintains a narrative tone that suits its purpose.
Differentiate Clients & Consumers from Data
By giving clients an active role in the content as "users" and "readers," content becomes a more personal experience for them and as such, more flexible in terms of achieving greater reach and identifying with the subject matter. This approach should also raise the interest level with clients who are engaged rather than patronized in an artifical way.
AI may do wonders when it comes to patronization, but only when the context and content presents information in an unreasonable way. Personally giving greater resonance to "users" and "readers" should instead produce insights that are more likely to achieve greater goals, such as stronger social media presence, more community interactivity and better recognition in comparison with competitors who choose to group their clients together as "customers" and "consumers."
Data is an unremarkable way of classifying interactivity that leaves out consideration for variable factors outside a set group of conditions. While data is helpful for making generalized decisions, it is not a good way to form generalizations about "users" and "readers" who may become inundated by such factors that end up driving their interactivity one way or the other.
A data focused approach works in an artificial way, feeding into the AI principle that computers make better decisions based upon data than the creator, but most of all undermine the true intent of "users" and "readers." The design either does or eventually will attempt to predict and formulate decision making processes for "users" and "readers" instead of enabling them to enjoy a more personalized experience. This transitions them into being only "clients" and "consumers." In some cases, the goal may indeed become treating "clients" and "consumers" to a more generalized experience, and as such, this approach will adapt to aspects that have become more AI based.
Services
Web Design
Often the overall website design process is clear and development processes outline the intended information right away. Other times, it's a longer process with more choices to make and bigger changes to impart during the process. Either way, there will be ups and downs and this should only make things more interesting for users and readers alike.
Social Media Management
Social media will at some point, if not right from the start, seem daunting and overwhelming. It's also an intimidating experience when it comes to presenting information to a global audience that has the power to scrutinize in a much more public way. This makes or breaks many businesses.
Content Creation
I'd like to offer more advice when it comes to content because oftentimes the business owner or product creator wants to provide their own content but needs more direction. I am able to create the content, but also provide content plans and guidelines for those who would rather be on their own in terms of reaching "users" and "readers."
